Bonefish Grill: Hooked on Tuesday menu!

August 11, 2015

A few weeks ago, we had a family date night at Bonefish Grill to check out the new Hooked on Tuesday menu. My kids LOVE seafood and I thought we needed some quality family time together.

The Tuesday menu features 3-course meals starting at $14.9! Heads up: get there before 6:30 for happy hour!

Grand Rapids Fun: Kentwood Farmer's Market!

April 30, 2015

Kentwood Michigan, Kentwood Farmer's Market. #GRMI, #PureMichigan, Grand Rapids Area Farmer's Market

Last month I was SO excited to see a sign at the library about a Kentwood farmer's market this summer.  Yes, we have the amazing Fulton Street market downtown--I love it, but it's not always convenient.

I've been bugging people digging around for more information and I have a few facts:

  • It will take place in the KDL Kentwood Parking lot on Saturday 9:00a-1:00p
    • Starts June 13 and runs until October 10
  • There will be about 10 vendors and 2 food trucks
  • Family centric activities and entertainment will be planned
I'm hoping to see any of my local friends out there and meet new people in the area!  We will be walking with our wagon every chance we get.  This will be a perfect opportunity to check out new books and movies for the week, too.  Did you see my library card lanyard craft?

Cut-a-Thon: a great way to give back!

November 16, 2011

Yes, the holidays are for gift giving, but it is also a great time to give back as well.  Most people think of Toys for Tots (which is absolutely amazing!), but there are other local charities out there.

If you are in the Grand Rapids area, make sure you check out a great event this Saturday (November 19th).  Ecouter Salon in Rockford is hosting a Cut-A-Thon .

You can get a haircut for $30 or if you donate 8" (or more!) of hair, you can get your cut for $15.  This is a great time to get a new 'do!  ALL proceeds go to a local Michigan organization called Children with Hairloss.  They raise money to help children with any type of medically related hair loss.

If you aren't in the area, you can still help out on Twitter!  You can post about the event and using #CutAthon.
