Obsessed with Dannon Oikos Dips! {Giveaway}

August 01, 2013

If you follow me on Instagram, you can immediately see what foods I'm obsessed with.  My ultimate favorite right now is the new Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt dip.  These low calorie dips are packed with flavor.

I first discovered these dippers at BlogHer Food.  Since I was a volunteer at the registration desk, I would have time to roam the Expo area while everyone else was in session.  If I needed a quick (healthy) snack, I would know to head over to the Dannon booth.

This dip comes in four flavors:

  • Roasted Red Pepper
  • Cucumber Dill
  • Veggie
  • French Onion
I have been playing around with these since June and I have come to love the Cucumber Dill and Roasted Red Pepper varieties best.  The veggie dip has made a few appearances at BBQs we've hosted as well.  As I am typing this, I just thought to add the French Onion on a burger with swiss.  YUM!  There are endless possibilities!

Instead of sour cream, use this dip for a cool topper for your fish tacos!

Stay tuned for the homemade Naan recipe!
I used to make my own Tzatziki dressing, but this tastes the same and is much easier!  If you want to go the meatless route, mix the dip with white beans or garbanzo beans.  I top the sandwich with cucumbers, tomato and spinach.  Quick lunch!

I buy Veggie Mediterranean burgers and top with the dip.  Another quick lunch or light dinner!

Are you itching to try this awesome new dip?  Enter to win 4 FREE coupons, plus a $10 Walmart gift card to shop with! I would love to know what you come up with!

To enter: leave a comment below stating which dip you would like to try or any creative way you would use the dips.  I will use random.org to pick a winner on August 7, 2013.

On the MOOve with Stonyfield Smoothies! {Giveaway!}

July 12, 2013

Nice refreshing snack for the little ladies!

No matter what time it is, or how long ago they ate, my girls are always searching for a snack.  I'm lucky they gravitate towards healthy options.  I still cannot figure out where all of the food goes on their tiny bodies!

Did you know they always have great coupons available on their site? They are also now found in the Sunday paper. You know I'm all about coupons! To be able to get a great organic product for the same price as other non-organic yogurt is a great feeling!  Our favorite is the Banilla quart (Banana + Vanilla).

As a Mama trying to keep her kids healthy, I love how my kids can quickly get some great nutrients in their system with these smoothies.  Organic milk, puree of fruits & veggies PLUS 1/3 daily calcium serving all in one 3 oz smoothie.  Can't beat that!

This summer it seems we are always on the go.  I like to stick a straw in the smoothies and give them to the girls in their carseats.  I don't like to give them too much liquid before driving, as they aren't quite always the best at going potty when they need to.  (Anyone else have kids that LOVE public restrooms? Ew!)

Want a chance to WIN some Stonyfield goodies?  Enter in the Rafflecopter below to win 4 coupons for FREE packages of Stonyfield Smoothies & a fun deck of cards "52 Things to Do in the Car" (Hello summer road trips!).

Have you checked out Hungry Girl?

April 21, 2012

I love my daily Hungry Girl emails.  Quick & informative!

Have you been hit by the Hungry Girl bug yet?  I was very skeptical at first as I watched her show on Food Network.  The meals looked, well, gross.  But, as I continued to watch and actually try some of her recipes, I am hooked!

She has a great daily email with quick tips, recipes and meal suggestions for restaurants.  Sometimes you can find out some scary facts about what you are eating at popular places.  Note: never eat ANY appetizer from Chili's.  Wow!

Lisa, aka Hungry Girl, has a series of books as well.  I found the cocktail book to be my favorite, she uses Crystal Light in a lot of drinks like I do.

Check it out!!

Smart Ones FB coupon alert!

Weight Watchers® Smart Ones®: "Like" Eat Your Best on Facebook and save up to $5 on Smart Ones® products.

Going back to my last post, I am trying to be a bit healthier this year.  It's not like we eat horribly, but the holidays took a toll on our eating habits.

I love to have a few frozen meals on hand for quick lunches or dinner when Ricky is working.  There is a great coupon on Facebook now, if you "like" Smart Ones.

If you haven't tried their dessert cups, you must!  The cookie dough and peanut butter cup ice cream cups are soo good.  They are great for a sweet tooth!

Go now, I'm sure this one will quickly!  If you don't have ink in your printer, they can mail you a coupon too!

UPDATE 1/6: They are going to be on sale 5/$9 next week at Meijer.  Great way to use up that coupon!

Smart ones: great for Moms on the go!

November 12, 2011

Don't you hate when you are running around all day and realize you haven't eaten anything? It happens to me almost daily. I make sure the girls are fed and I barely have time to eat something myself! Even better, when I do actually make something the twins sit and stare like dogs at my plate. Somehow the food on my plate, although the same, is always better. Go figure!

While I don't usually eat too many frozen meals, I really love the Smart Ones brand. They actually have tasty dishes that are healthy too! If you have a sweet tooth, make sure you try their desserts. The cookie dough sundae is perfect!

When I got the opportunity to try the new Smart Ones Satisfying Selections, I jumped at the chance. I sometimes feel like one meal is never enough to fill me up. These meals are a larger portion, served in a steam bag. I was shocked when I looked at the nutrition facts, they are still really low in fat. Also, they were on sale and cheaper than the regular Smart Ones. After I paid, a coupon for $1.00/2 came out. Bonus!
Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo.  Mmm!

The first meal I tried was the Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo. I was surprised that there was only 4 grams of fat in the whole bag. It was very tasty and I had to try my best to keep little fingers from grabbing the "curly noodles" off of my plate. It was a little peppery, but the sauce was very creamy (as you can see in the photo) and there were large chunks of white meat chicken.

A few days later, I tried the Chicken Teriyaki Stir Fry for dinner and I was a bit disappointed. I really wanted to try the Sesame Chicken anyway, but it was out so I grabbed this option. After pouring the bag into my bowl, I realized there were barely any veggies in it. I love broccoli and mushrooms in my stir fry, but this only had about 4 little pieces of peppers and a ton of rice. The only redeeming factors were that the sauce was good, there were big chunks of chicken and I love edamame. It would have been perfect if they added a vegetable variety to it!

I will definately be a repeat customer of these meals, although I will stay away from the stir fry. I feel it is a great value for the price...you get a lot of food!

Have you tried these meals yet? Here is a link for a Smart Ones coupon. I know there are some better ones in coupon inserts too!
